20quid is on the high side. Personally I don't tip. The fact I return there and even invite mates and family regularly means I'm already helping to keep business going. And the waiter gets to keep their job.
Nothing wrong with occasional generosity by should never be held as an obligation.
My mate only tips when served by a girl.
