Council insists Light switch off won't bring rise in crime

Warwickshire County Council say they are confident crime levels will not go up because of some street lights being switched off in the early hours.

The authority is pushing ahead with the idea as part of money saving plans.

They are also discussing the move with residents at a series of community forums over the next few weeks.

When the proposals were first mooted earlier this year some safety groups expressed horror.
