The launch of a new Community Hub
Saturday, December 8th
Rugby Community Hub CIC and Rugby Methodist Church Centre are celebrating the launch of a new community venture. Rugby Community Hub is a newly formed Community Interest Company. It is all about offering a variety of volunteering opportunities, developing community projects and creating a safe and welcoming space in the new Hub Cafe. There will be lots of information available on Saturday 8th December when there is an invitation to all to come and join in the celebrations. At 12.30 the Hub Cafe will be officially opened by the Mayor, and then at 1.30pm 2 donkeys will be arriving. There will also be children’s Christmas craft activities and an opportunity to explore Follow the Star – the nativity experience which schools local to Rugby Methodist Church Centre on the gyratory (Russelsheim Way) will have recently visited. You can even dress up in Nativity costumes and become part of the story as you stroke the donkeys or visit the stable. Seasonal refreshments will be available all day including homemade cakes baked at the Monday morning baking club. All are welcome
The volunteering opportunities that are currently available include working in the cafe; befriending; baking in the baking club on Monday mornings; social media and website; developing publicity materials; helping with grant applications and finding sources of funding; helping to engage with the local community to find out how local people can be supported by Rugby Community Hub.
