Two men behind a sickening attack on a man at a property in Ryton have been jailed.
The victim was kicked and stamped on even when he lay unconscious on the ground.
The attack started following an altercation between people attending two different parties at Sports Connection in the village on 7 December 2018.
The victim – a man in his 20s – was attacked and fell to the floor unconscious before the two men continued their attack on him.
He suffered serious injuries to his face.
Jay Paul Drage, 20, of Warwick Road, Wolston, and Dale McCarthy, 19, of Montague Road, Rugby, both pleaded guilty to affray.
Appearing at Warwick Crown Court on Monday (11 November) Drage was sentenced 12 months in prison and McCarthy to nine months in prison.
Detective Constable Steve Mobbs from Warwickshire Police CID said: “This was a sickening attack on a man which continued when he was clearly unconscious. Drage and McCarthy can count themselves lucky the consequences were not much worse.”
