This large-scale choral work was composed by British Composer Award winner Adam Gorb with words by Ben Kaye. Eternal Voices is in five unbroken sections interspersed with narration relating to the 'story' of the work which includes news headlines as part of the narrative.
Currently over 15% of British fatalities in Afghanistan have been Royal Marines. Many Royal Marines are currently on their second or third deployment to Helmand and 75% of the Royal Marines are being deployed on operations over the next 18 months.
Eternal Voices tells the story of one particular Royal Marines family who lose their loved one in the field of conflict and the effect this has on his wife and their young son.
The work honours the Fallen, their families and friends, serving personnel and those struggling to recover from injuries both mental and physical sustained in the service of their country. The programme of music will also include a range of other military and patriotic pieces. Proceeds will go to the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund.
